It started with a dream of creating a sustainable organic farm for Caroline and Dan Swansey, owners of Yacolt Mountain Farm. In 2011 that dream came alive when they started their diversified small-scale horse powered farm. That’s right…..powered by horses!
The Swensey’s love their job as famers where they get to use sustainable, organic practices to produce food and work with their draft horses, Bud and Charlie to plow the fields.They also enjoy starting new seeds for a new growing season of producing a diversity of vegetables and watching their farm animals in action.
Along with their baby Isaiah, their cats, and dog, the Swansey’s are indeed living their farm dream!
